300-Calorie Breakfast Ideas

It is quite easy to lose weight with meals below 400 calories and snacks of under 200, for that would then total to a daily consumption of about 2000 calories or less. Here are some breakfasts which do not go past the 400-calorie mark and are filling, nutritious, easy to cook and delicious as well.
Vegetable omelet
This 4-ingredient omelet is a breeze to prepare , cheesy, very filling and yet packs just around 300 calories. One thing more, it can be varied by using a different vegetable each time.
Ingredients:
- 2 large eggs
- 2 egg whites
- 1 oz low-fat cheddar cheese
- ½ cup vegetables
Directions:
Beat eggs and egg whites together. Spray non-stick frying pan with low-fat cooking spray. Heat the pan, pour in the eggs and scramble in the vegetables. When the eggs are almost cooked, top with cheese, add a teaspoon of water and cover with the lid. Let cook for a minute more and serve hot.
Low-Cal French Toast
You can easily see how French Toast becomes under 300 cal as whole wheat is used instead of wheat bread, egg white is increased and low-fat milk subs for whole milk.
Ingredients:
- Cracked Wheat with Whole-grain Bread, 2 slices
- 1 large egg
- 1 egg white
- 1/8 cup 1% milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
Whisk together all the ingredients except the bread. Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture and cook on oiled and heated pan until golden brown.
Waldorf Salad
If you want a 300-cal milky, nutty and fruity treat, here’s the one for you. It’s high in nutrients, fiber and flavor.
Ingredients:
- 1 6-ounce container of vanilla yogurt
- 1 small apple
- ¼ cup grapes
- ¾ oz walnuts
Directions:
Chop apples, grapes and walnuts and mix in yogurt. Chill and serve. To skip the chilling the next time you make this, chill ingredients the night before.
Egg Burrito
Easy low-cal does it with this delicious, filling and nutritious Mexican meal. For variety, you can substitute veggies for the salsa.

Make scrambled eggs and let cheese melt on top. Place scrambled eggs in the tortilla shell and top with salsa. Roll up and serve.
