How To Be Ready At All Times For Quick and Easy Entertaining

Entertaining guests at home is now the more usual option chosen over eating out at some fancy restaurant. Entertaining need not be so nerve-wracking if you know the following tips on how to be perpetually ready for company.
Prepare the music.
From your long list of songs in your MP3, prepare a “dinner playlist†which you can play for your guests while you’re scurrying around to prepare for the meal. Something soft and suave can instantly change the ambiance of your home and make for a relaxing waiting time for your hungry guests.
Have candles at hand.
You need not worry about décor if you have some lighted votive candles to make your room cozy and warm. Never let yourself run out of a bunch of candles. It’s also good to have pretty candleholders ready.
Set aside “for guests only†dinnerware.
A ready set of sparkling new and matching dinnerware makes entertaining a fine dining experience. Stash them away when not in use to preserve their finish and make them always guest-ready.
Have a plan for the food.
Food is the centerpiece of entertaining and you should have a well mapped-out plan for different entertaining scenarios. It is relatively easy to deal with a pre-appointed dinner as you have ample time to plan the menu and cook. The challenge is when unexpected company comes. In these emergency cases, a good contingency plan is to have ready-made meals that can be steamed quickly in the microwave.
Be ready for a cookout.
If you have a garden and if the weather connives with you, a barbecue at night makes for a casual yet fun entertaining experience. Invest in a grill and grilling accessories. Then, when guests come, all you need are some hotdogs and burgers.
Develop a love for entertaining.
Entertaining need not be anxiety-provoking. Do not fuss so much over your guests or try too hard to make an impression. Be yourself and forgive your inadequacies. Wear a smile, relax and have fun. Just let them be and they will love you for it and think of you as a great host.
