How To Make Your Own Assorted Flavored Coffee Mixes

You don't have to buy expensive flavored coffee mixes just to get out of the rut of your usual instant coffee with creamer. You can make your own flavored coffee mixes by just playing around with some basic ingredients like instant coffee, sugar, milk, creamer, cocoa powder, cinnamon and grated orange peel or mint.
Here are some recipes to get you started. Buy a big bag of instant coffee, sugar, non-dairy creamer, powdered milk, cocoa powder and a bottle of cinnamon powder, ground cardamom and cinnamon.
Start small and try one recipe for this week, the second one for the next week, and so on, until you get to know what you really fancy.
You can also make several coffee mixes at once and have a different coffee mix every day for an interesting variety.
These mixes can also be turned into fabulous gift items to family and friends. Just mix, store in an attractive airtight container, post your own fancy label and tie a ribbon.
Nightcap Coffee Mix
- 2/3 cup non-dairy coffee creamer
- 1/3 cup instant coffee granules
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Yields 1 1/3 cups coffee mix
Use 1 heaping tablespoon to make a cup of coffee.
Spiced Mocha Coffee Mix
- 1/3 cup instant coffee
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- ½ cup dry milk
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons dried orange peel
Use 1 heaping tablespoon per cup.
Vienna Coffee Mix
- 1 cup instant coffee
- 2 cups instant cocoa powder
- 2 cups Creamora
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Yields 6 cups of coffee mix.
Use 3 to 4 heaping teaspoons per cup.
Fireside Coffee Mix
- 2 cups Swiss Miss
- 2 cups Creamora
- 1 ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup instant coffee
- 1 ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon nutmeg
Use 3 to 4 heaping teaspoons per cup
Cappuccino Coffee Mix
- ½ cup instant coffee granules
- ½ teaspoon grated dried orange peel
- 1 cup non-dairy coffee creamer
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Use 2 or more teaspoons per 60 ml of hot water.
Minted Coffee-Cocoa Mix
- 1 ½ cup non-dairy coffee creamer
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup instant coffee
- ½ cup cocoa powder
- a dash of salt
- ½ teaspoon peppermint extract
Use 2 to 3 heaping teaspoons per cup.
