Your Daily Cleaning List

Cleaning the house should not be a random affair, one that you set out to do when you just feel like it. It should be put deliberately on schedule or it will be left out altogether. While it is not possible to deep-clean every nook and cranny of the house each day, there are certain things you must do daily to keep your house presentable at all times.
Dishwashing
If there is one thing you really, really need to do on a daily basis, it is dishwashing. Unwashed dishes, left for a day, may cause hard-to-remove stains and smells, and worse, moldy or fungal growths. They are also terrible clutters and can hamper your movement and work in the kitchen.
15-minute Clutter Control
A daily 15-minute surface cleaning of each room goes a long way to keep your house guest-ready at all times. It may not deep-clean the house but it is the least you can do to keep clutter and dirt from getting out of control.
With a carryall basket in hand, go to your living room and pick up all things which do not belong there. Go to the other rooms and do the same. Sort the items according to where each one needs to be returned and then promptly return the items to their places. If you don’t have enough time to return all the items, at least they are out of sight and all in one place, ready to be returned at some other time.
Filing of Papers
Tedious as it may be, filing papers is essential to clutter control. Bills, receipts, kids’ arts, school papers, office papers, fliers and coupons could go haywire when neglected. The best way to handle paper clutter is to have a place for each category—a hanging pocket for the bills, folders for kids’ school papers, envelopes for coupons, and so on. Teach your children to do their own filing and equip each of the kids’ rooms with filing systems for their school papers.
Vacuuming of Trafficked Areas
You cannot possibly vacuum all areas of the house but you can vacuum at least the “public” areas such as the living room and the highly-trafficked hallways. Shiny floors tidy up the look and brighten up the feel of your house. Do not worry about the other rooms, you can vacuum them on a weekly basis.
